The Beginning – DAWN aka A Sunrise..... Dawn Marie Keith was born on July 24, 1962 in Chicago, Illinois to the union of Donald O. Keith & Diane M. Cloutier. The Journey.... Dawn Marie Keith Christened and received Communion in the Catholic Faith in 1969 at St. Sabina Catholic School during her formative years. She received the remainder of her education at St. Frances De'Sales, Elizabeth Seton Catholic H.S. and later at the HSBCU - Howard University majoring in English & Theatrical Arts. It was while in attendance here that she pledged Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc in the spring of 1983, before graduating in 1984. After graduating, Dawn held various teaching jobs, the New York Public School System, The Chicago Public School System -”Whitney Young Magnate School” and finally the Los Angeles Unified School System teaching students, “Proper English” & Phonetics. But while teaching in Los Angeles, she discovered she had a “passion” for acting & comedy. She held a variety of acting gigs before finally settling into “Stand-Up” comedy. She was quite good at it too. While working at LA Unified, she suffered a debilitating injury and began to pursue her comedy career full time. (See Video). She was able to take all of Life's Lemons thrown at her and make Lemonade thru her comedy. In April of 2012, Dawn suffered another physical setback, she had a massive stroke at the age of 49 and put up a good 9 year battle as she refused to give in to her disability. The End – A Sunset.... Dawn was called home to be with the Lord on February 13, 2021 at 4:30a. She leaves to cherish her memories a loving Family of Aunts, Cousins & Friends as both of her parents have preceded her in death and she was also an “Only” child. “Hello, My name is DAWN....Like the break of the Day.” forever will you be missed
